I have an external HDD that I am using with 1 of the partitions using Veracrypt. On that partition, anytime I plug the HDD in, it pops up asking for format the partition. Obviously, I don't want to do that or do I want someone else to on accident (wouldn't be on accident, but ou know what I mean). Any suggestions on how to make sure it does not keep popping up when I plug the HDD in? Thanks.

The normal reason for this 'You need to format ...' message, is because one is trying to access the partition via the drive letter it had before encryption, rather than a different one (or, one has failed to remove the original drive letter from direct access by Windows using Disk Management). Can you confirm you have checked and eliminated this possibilty?
