Either Surface Pro 1,2 or 3. I am still deciding which model to get. Thanks for the help!

    Hi,

From the official Microsoft documentation, it appears that Surface Pro devices support only UEFI boot mode with no option to switch to legacy BIOS mode:

Unfortunately, because of this, VeraCrypt system encryption can not work on Surface Pro devices.

It is planned to add UEFI support to VeraCrypt but this is a complex feature and there is no expected availability date.

Sorry, I made a comment below but I should have refrenced this since it was old. But if you boot into the UEFI and change the boot security to none. That will allow it to change the book loader I am guessing. I also turned off TPM. When you boot after changing the boot loader you will see a red bar with a lock in the middle letting you know that its unlocked. Then once you do the test for the boot loader it shows in extremely small print in the top right corner asking for your passphrase. Mine is currently into the encrypting portion. I will edit this later updating that it successfully encrypted the drive. Update. Works just fine! Thank you VeraCrypt!!!

      Bon

I am going to say that is not true as I am successfully encrypting my drive on my surface book pro 4. VeraCrypt your awesome!! Bitlocker can suck it!

EFI is supported from 1.18 (Use 1.20b2 because 1.19 has bug in rescue disk)

Also possible to use TPM 1.2 (discrete TPM) It is experimental.

Secure Boot is possible also. Load VeraCrypt certificate in addition to MS and Linux.
