Cannot Delete Veracrypt Container on Flash Drive

Hello,
I created a veracrypt container on a flash drive for a school project. Now I want to use the device for something else and I am trying to delete the container.
Whenever I right click on the file it does not give me the option to delete the file. I cannot format the usb drive because it is "write protected"
the container will mount and I can open it with no issues. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
