Hi, i'm trying to encrypt Windows 10 system with the latest stable release - 1.24-Update2 (Monday December 16, 2019) on Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite AM4 with Ryzen 3600. My system memory is G.Skill Ripjaws V, DDR4, 16 GB,3200MHz CL14.
When I record a rescue disc and the initial password test is processed, I cannot enter the password correctly. If you enter e.g. one letter, a large number of copies are printed on the screen at the same time. Entering a password is impossible because each letter is duplicated many times, even several dozen times. Six months ago I also tried to encrypt the disk and I had the same problem. I tried different keboard too. Doesn't help. This bug appears also with Truecrypt 7.1a .
This board supports UEFI, so how about instead using the CSM and using old style MBR boot,
try installing windows ona GPT partition with UEFI boot, VC has a UEFI bootloader and I would strongly suspect that this particular issue will not appear there, although other new once may.
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
First things first, I would suggest checking that everything is on "stock" settings (if it isn’t already).
Turn off any enhancements or tweaks in the BIOS, such as XMP memory, CPU "multicore enhancement" and so on. Also check the memory timings are set at the stock settings and correct voltage. Save and exit the BIOS.
Has the BIOS been updated to the latest version? If not, update to the latest (non-beta) release. After successful updating, clear the CMOS (see motherboard manual), then revert back to stock settings, as suggested previously, then save and exit the BIOS.
Hope that helps.

This is really strange. I suppose it can't be caused by VC or Truecrypt, as they just get letters from BIOS...
