EDIT: I don’t suppose there’s a way to delete this post? I reposted it in the more appropriate forum, “Technical Topics”.
I have a 50 GB container (recently converted from TrueCrypt format) that I can mount just fine using the right password/keyfile combination, but when I try to backup the volume header, it always gives me the same error:
Operation failed due to one omore of the following:
- Incorrect keyfile(s).
- Incorrect password.
- Incorrect Volume PIN number.
- Incorrect PRF (hash).
- Not a valid volume.
Source: BackupVolumeHeader:9800
As mentioned, the same password and keyfile combination open the container without issue, so that’s obviously not the problem. I haven’t touched the PIN or PRF (I don’t even know what those are). “PKCS-5 PRF” is set to “Autodetection” and “Use PIM” is unchecked.
I previously converted another TrueCrypt header to VeraCrypt format and backed up its header without issue. I don’t know what’s different this time.
Any thoughts would be welcome.
