    I picked a PIM that is 65535

I thought it take 5 min to verify password.

    It's been two hours.

    How long can this take?

PIM stands for Personal Iterations Multiplier.

Depending on your hardware, a very long time.

Also, when do get to desktop can I change PIM?

Yes, use the password change option.

IMO, you should keep the normal PIM. The default setting is more than adequate. All you need is a strong password.

Make it a simple unique sentence or a short string of words. And include a number(s) and/or symbols.

Anymore and you're going overboard. Unless you're storing away information that is vital to a country's national security, there is no need to go overboard.

A string is just a collection of letters and/or words
