HI all --please help– I'm desperate, in the middle of an international move, where I need files on this laptop.
I did the pretest, but did not encrypt. I use an external monitor for my laptop because the screen is broken. After it restarted (there was an update going on when it shut down) the laptop starts but nothing gets displayed to the External monitor.
Based on this post here [https://sourceforge.net/user/verified?return_to=https%3A%2F%2Fsourceforge.net%2Fp%2Fveracrypt%2Fdiscussion%2Fcreate_topic%2Fgeneral%2F] I thought this would be okay.
I have already tried to push escape on startup as instructed but Windows did not start. I put in the rescue USB. But I don't know what I can do if I can't see anything.
Desperately seeking your help, I could literally lose my upcoming job because of this.
Toshiba P75 Series Windows 10 64 bit
Thanks,

Take out the hard drive and either take it too a computer shop or buy a cable to connect the drive into another computer via USB,
At least then you may be able to get the files back.
Never leave impotant files on the C drive keep them on a seperate partition , that way it is easier to recover them in case of accident like you had.
