I have encountered a problem mounting volumes in version 1.24 update 6. I can mount the volume in question with version 1.19 (October 17, 2016). When mounting in 1.24 I get a message that the password is incorrect. I am just using a password to encrypt the volume. It is 120 characters long. Am I stuck just creating a new volume in 1.24 or is there something more going on here that I am missing? Please let me know what information you need because I am sure that I have not provided everything that will help solve this problem.

For non-system volumes prior to 1.24 version, characters greater than 64 were ignored. However, version 1.24 allows for 128 bytes.

Since you created your non-system volumes using a version prior to 1.24, either enter the password to 64 characters or enable the option to use legacy maximum password length (64) instead for compatibility.

You are spot on here. Thank you for the help. I took the first 64 characters of the 120 character password and that unlocked the volume. Thanks again. I'm back to running 1.24.

I have not tried it, but I am assuming that if you use the password change using the 1.24 version that you can change your password from 64 characters up to 128 characters.

Of course, you would need to disable the option to use legacy maximum password length (64) if you previously enabled this option in the 1.24 version.
