I'm aware the performance issues with SSD's are hard to solve without giving up on container support. How about making VC with two drivers bundled, one with better performance and no container support, and the other with worse performance and container support?
An "SSD mode" option on the settings page would switch the driver on the next reboot, enabling users to choose if they want container support or fast SSd support. If they use containers sparingly, they could flip the switch when they need the containers.

Hello,
about performance i recently make benchmark with crystaldisk
and i found amazing things about performances in MB/s , on encrypted volumes :

the owner knows the problem for years but the fix is complicated. Hopefully we can see a fix soon. A kick starter project to support him with donations would be good as long if we get a clear view of what is going to be fixed and added rather than randomly donating
it really seems that IDRASSI has mostly abandoned the project , he was much more implicated few years ago but now , sadly, has lost interest .
If he doesn't have enough time due to personal issues, a better alternative would be finding a trusted developer who is willing to continue his great work.
This is the kind of project that needs updates every 1-2 months not 2 updates per year.
We are still waiting for a fix to nvme speed problems, and overcome other limitations like hidden os without uefi and many others .
