Right now, there's Shield (0 - 1/3 - 2/3 - full) power settings. But yeah, got to be at least step-by-step increase.
Not sure if WC system is the best idea, though.

I think only wc3 and 4 had a power distribution system.
I was orignally used in X-wing and in Tie fighter.
