Clearly we aren't ever likely to agree about this. My experience in the
past has been that some people are extremely dogmatic when it comes to
this issue, and nothing much seems to have changed.

Anyway, the consensus seems to be to leave agg's coding style alone, so
there seems little point in discussing it further.
