I'm having random crashes with OpenGL and xBR shaders. Usually I get "Program has stopped working", out of bound memory error, or the middle of the screen freezes. I am unsure if it's OpenGL itself or xBR, since I had a crash on OpenGL too. I'm not having problems with OGL+xBR on other emulators.
*I am trying to find xBR-hybrid since or a newer xBR since it works better with NVidia GPUs while waiting for a fix.
shaders?
our code doesn't support 'shaders', the filters are purely software, so opengl/d3d should not matter at all.
Yes, filters (sigh, nomenclature...).
Since they are purely software, I guess OpenGL isn't stable in the latest release? A friend of mine never had a crash on D3D + HQ filter.
OT: don't wanna open a new ticket - will VBA-M switch to .cg format? I see it's using outdated Kega Fusion .rpi.

Bump for a big edit on my previous post.
Been playing a couple of days with D3D + xBRZ and DirectSound 8, flawless!
I'll try with xBRZ MT to see if it crashes, since using filters grays out the Multihtread option.
I reckon OGL is unstable, either alone or just with filters.
Confirmed that xBRZ MT crashes even on D3D.
To recap:
There is clearly something wrong with your computer or its drivers.
