Hi ! I am new to this list and to UML a project that I just discovered today. Here is what I am doing/looking for: I am making packages for a single floppy firewall/router ( http://leaf.sourceforge.net ). Kernel used for that purpose: 2.2.19 + 2 special patches. Everything boots out a floppy (like tombsrt). Also these packages must be compiled under Debian/Slink ( libc size smaller ) I am running my main linux machine under Debian/Potatoe Here is what I would like to do: I log on my main Potatoe machine. Under this machine I log on my first UML machine to have access to my Debian/slink so I can compile my packages under that environnement. I then create a virtual LEAF floppy that I can boot under a second UML machine. That would avoid perpetual reboots to switch from one environment to another. Also the virtual "floppy boot" should be quicker ? Am I dreaming or not ? What are the required steps (I am still a bit confused by the doc). Any guidance will be appreciated. Thanks Jacques |
