"Forbidden You were denied access because: Access denied by access control list." Hi, I'm getting the above message when trying to access: http://user-mode-linux.sourceforge.net I can get in fine if I instead use: http://user-mode-linux.sourceforge.net/index.html I have tried this on both my Linux machine using Mozilla and on an old Windows machine using IE5. I don't have any such problem with any other Internet site that I have tried to access. Interestingly, I had earlier been doing a trademarks search at a US govt site using the old windows machine. Then I visited news.bbc.co.uk and after that user-mode-linux.sourceforge.net It was only after that that the problem arose! It affected only the bbc site and the user-mode-linux site. I obviously simply thought my Windows IE had corrupted itself somehow (as they do) so I rebooted into Linux and found the same problem on both sites!. Some time later (still under Linux) I noticed that the bbc site started working again (without anything typed after the http://news.bbc.co.uk part but user-mode-linux home page continues to give me the same access control list error unless I manually type index.html at the end... Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas? Regards William William McEwan School of Computing Faculty of Commerce tel: 940 8244 Room: N220 |
