HI folks. I've not found any problems with UPM on Windows 11. Syncing via Dropbox also works. If anyone is still have issues with UPM on Windows please share the details, i.e. error messages, steps to reproduce the error. In most cases the problem is a missing Java runtime. It may be a few days until the updated version of the app appears on the Play store. It needs to go through a review with Google. They said it should be done within 7 days. Hopefully it won't be too long.
Hi folks. I've just released a new version of UPM on Android that should address the Dropbox sync issue. @Brad I don't understand why UPM isn't showing up in the Play store on some devices. It certainly should. The new version I've just released includes updates to the target SDK versions, i.e. the versions of Android that the app works with. This may help resolve the problem you've seen. I'll be looking into the Dropbox sync issues on Windows over the coming days.
Hello, and thank you for the response. I am referring to UPM not being functional or even available in the Google Play Store (USA). In fact, I just searched for it on a friend's Samsung Galaxy S25 and I couldn't find it. Another friend found it in the Play Store on their Galaxy, but it wasn't compatible with their version of Android. Their phone is also an Galaxy S25. When I purchase my new Galaxy S26 in March, I'm concerned it won't be in the Google Play Store. I hope that clarifies my question....
Brad Kusik, what error message are you getting when you attempt to start UPM? If this is the message, Windows cannot find "javaw". Make sure you've typed the name correctly, then try again. This means you're missing the Java runtime. To install this, 1. Go to https://www.microsoft.com/openjdk 2. Click "Download" 3. Download the latest version for your operating system. The latest version for Windows today is microsoft-jdk-25.0.1-windows-x64.exe. 4. Run the file you've downloaded to install Java....

Hey, I'm using Linux Ubuntu 22.04. On my old Laptop with Ubuntu 18.04 I was already using UPM, but now I have problems to install it on my new Laptop. When adding the repositories there appears an error message, that the link https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/adriansmith/upm/ubuntu does not contain a release file (404 Not found). I was able to find a work around. I had a tablet that was not powered on to automatically take the update. I was able to pull the 1.17(22) build apk from that device and put it on my phone.. then ensure that turned off the automatic updates.

I just discovered my phone databases was not up to date. When I select Sync on my phone I see the message "Problem downloading Database" flash on the screen. I am using the Android version on a Pixel phone. My database is on a server in a protected folder. The desktop Windows UPM app seems to work fine. Any thoughts? The Android version is 1.20 (25). Hate to be a bearer of bad news, but it seems the Dropbox update has broken something else. I have 2 phones that will no longer sync to a WebDav setup I've been using successfully for the last 6 years. Is there anywhere I can down grade to the previous version?

Tim, I just changed the "Storage Access" permissions on the UPM App to "Allow mgmt of all files". I was then able to restore the database on my phone. Just need to get the Dropbox issue resolved. Tks Gary
Tim, I originally tried your solution but whenever I try to backup or restore the UPM.DB file I get "Problem performing file operation".
Anna, You have to use the UPM app on your PC to do the export. Just click on "DATABASE" and then click on "EXPORT". When saving the file, use the .CSV extension in the file name. EG. UPM.CSV. You can then open this up in Excel and expand all the columns the way you want it and then save as XLSX file and password protect it. Voila'

I've taken a different approach to dealing with this problem for the time being. I mostly use UPM on my laptop and desktop, and generally only occasionally use it on Android to check existing passwords rather than creating new entries. I do the following to manually update the UPM database on my phone: First, in UPM on Android, go to Settings->More->Backup to create a backup upm.db file on the phone. The only reason to do this is to verify where UPM stores this file on your phone. On my phone UPM...

Jack, I have the same issue starting today. Hopefully someone can provide an answer. Windows 10 OS UPM app syncs fine with Dropbox. It's strictly the Android OS that is no longer working.
I downloaded a UPM.db file to my Android phone, replacing the existing file. I've done this many times in the past without trouble. The file I downloaded was generated on my computer and works fine there. UPM didn't seem to be able to see it. After several tries, I deleted UPM app from the phone and reinstalled it. I'm experiencing the same problem on my Pixel 3 phone. I wonder whether the problem is related to the fact that the Dropbox API no longer accepts long-lived tokens (as of the end of September 2021)? Hello, I'm trying to backup the UPM password app, but it says, 'problem performing file operation', when I press the backup button in the menu. I am able to sync with Dropbox, and I get a UPM.db for within my Dropbox, but I'm not sure if that's the same things as backing up, and importing it to a new phone. Any suggestions would be great. Your UPM db was most likely overwritten by hers when she saved her UPM db to your Dropbox. AFAIK, there is no way to recover/revert the UPM db file back to your db. Only thing I can suggest is to have her backup her UPM to her own Dropbox and you can then manually overwrite the UPM.db file on your Dropbox with the your UPM db. EDIT: Dropbox does have folder history options but those look to be locked away behind their paid storage options.

You need to allow UPM access permissions to the "SD card". This is done by going to the Settings for the phone, click on Apps, find/click on UPM, click on Permissions, click on Storage, then allow UPM access to your Storage. The storage location that UPM uses is: /storage/emulated/0
Hi Ben UPM is available in the Google Play store again. It was taken down a while back as I hadn't completed some recent changes to the listing requirements. I submitted the updated details and the listing has been restored. Adrian
I just bought a new android tablet, and as part of my usual setup, tried to install UPM. It appears that the UPM app is no longer in the play store. Any way to get an .apk to side-load it? Appears as if the new Java update on WIN10 listed below, breaks the GUI and causes the GUI to not render properly... v 8 upd 311 (build 1.8.0_311-b11) Anyone else have an issue with this? Let me know if additional info is needed, thx.
This phone has no SD card. I backed up upm.db to several places :) UPM seems to have transferred successfully from the Galaxy S7. But, when I try to back it up on the new phone it gives me an error. My file manager does not show a UPM dir or a /mnt dir. What am I missing? Thanx

Hello Massimo, I had the same problem and i could solved it. The problem was i didn't have installed Java in my Laptop. Go To this page and download and install Java. I prefer to use the offline method to install it. https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp Et Voila, problem solved. Hope this works for you. Best Regards.

For years I have used version 1.17 on different phones and android versions. Now I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy A42. After a clean install I expect to see the "New Database" screen, but instead I get straight to the screen: "Please enter your master password". While no database has been created. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Jarenlang heb ik versie 1.17 gebruikt op verschillende telefoons en android versies. Nu heb ik recent een Samsung Galaxy A42 aangeschaft. Na een schone installatie verwacht ik het scherm "New Database" te zien, maar in plaats daarvan kom ik gelijk in het scherm: "Please enter your master password".
