I'm trying to stop spammers from getting any work done on channels, my goal is to basically block anyone that says anything containing the words: .net .com .org .edu .info .whatever. But if I do *.com it blocks words like intercom so I dont know what to do. Running 3.2.1 on FreeBSD. Help? Cheers! -- -gabriel |

There's the channel mode +Q to restrict kicks without doing it by the chanserv kick command. Why isnt there a mode that restricts bans without doing it by the chanserv? What I'm suggesting is implementing - a new mode that acts like +Q but on bans rather than kicks - a new chanserv command, ban. If these cant be implemented for some reason, I'd like to hear why coz I could really find a use for them. _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: smart spam protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail |

I'm getting some complaints from users after my upgrade to 3.2.1: -irc1.blah:@#testing- NickServ invited blah into the channel. and -irc1.blah:@#testing- ChanServ invited blah into the channel. These messages keep showing up when services is used to invite someone in a channel. My services package and configuration is the same, the only thing that changed was an upgrade from 3.2 and RC2 to 3.2.1. I did not upgrade or change services in anyway at all. Anyone have some suggestions on how I might be able to remove these messages? Thank you. - Randy Snow - |

I know this may sound like an odd question, but is there a way to easily = ban all nicks from connecting that do not have a pre-defined string in = them? Like, as an example, set a ban nick block for *, then set an exempt for = web* (to allow, in this example, all nicks that start with "web" in = them). I can't find the option in the docs (oddly nicks seem to be the only ban = type in config other than jupes that does not have a bypass option = available as well). Does anyone perhaps know of a module that would = provide such a feature? |

Hello, I have recently configured a server with SSL enabled. However, when I try to run it, it tells me that I have SSL in my link blocks on a non-SSL compile. I even put /usr/bin/openssl in the path during ./Config. The particular system is running Debian. Oh, and before I forget...I am unable to compile modules on my FreeBSD system. I ran the gmake custommodule MODULEFILE=<modulename> commands (as well as with make, instead of gmake) and I get things like "don't know how to make .c." and "don't know how to make w."
