Wow Torsten,
I've never even anywhere near that close to getting it to work with
automake 1.7.3.

I readded acinclude.m4 to cvs which might take care of that issue
for you.... (However I don't believe thats the right way to do it)

I made a couple of other changes in CVS that my be better for you too...

My vote would be to drop SL's AM_PATH_SDL in favor of standard lib checking... Given the timing tho, I don't have the time to work on it right now...
