Just downloaded 0.9.18 and copied to Applications; but it won't run. Specifically, from a non-admin account, (1) If just double-clicked, a black flash screen just flicks for a fraction of a second. (2) If run with "pseudo" (an app that effectively sudo's what's dropped on it), the screen lasts a bit longer (maybe one second?) and then a crash report seems to be sent. I saw something about fonts.config in the log; but I also saw (somewhere) that the current version should fix that for itself. Any help? Sorry --- replying to myself! I moved over to an admin account and ran it there; worked fine. Then moved back to the original account, and it worked fine there too. Could it be that the font.config install that's performed automatically is on a "whole machine" basis, and requires admin status to run? Probably a good idea (security wise) --- but also a note to that effect would be handy! Sorry you are having problems! Which version are you using - one for MacOS or are you running linux on your Mac? If you are running linux which version? Thanks Caroline |

But I did get it running (see second post). I suspect a small part of the initial setup requires admin privileges (which it didn't have in the account I began with). Tried again with an admin account, and it installed fine. Then back to the standard account, and it installed there too. So probably the ReadMe should say something about all that... Thanks! Better yet, we should figure out how to make it work w/o needing admin privileges! :) I'll make sure Martin F., who ports Tux Paint to OS X for us, sees this thread. Thanks, and glad you figured out a work-around! I'll post it on the "Known Issues" page, and send a note to some OS X users who recently reported problems, in case your info helps them.
