I'm trying to put together a nice test pattern image. The main intent
is to characterize the OLPC XO (formerly "$100 laptop") display,
which is rather weird. Mostly I will be using a zone plate, which is
a set of concentric circles with varying thickness. I'll also be including
some "fixed" font (xterm default) text, normal and 2x, and some
black-and-white patterns that I think will show up in wild colors.
Hopefully I'll get somebody to photograph the results.
Tux Paint is GPL. It would be nice if I could include some of the UI
in my test image. While I could make the test image pure GPL, that
gets rather weird and would prevent usage on most wikis. It's much
better if the image is public domain. I may ultimately multi-license
the image as LGPL, GFDL, and at least one of the Creative Commons
licenses. The GPL prevents this.
I'd like to include anything that might be cause for concern on a
blurry display with color fringe artifacts. I guess that would mean
three buttons (all three states), Tux, and a sample of Tux text.
Anything troublesome I might have missed?
