Honestly, I think that using Tux Paint as the creation tool, and then using something else (powerpoint, iphoto, or perhaps one day there'll be Tux Slideshow :^) ) makes the most sense. I didn't want Tux Paint itself to become too much of a 'suite.' For example, I've always wanted to make an animation tool for kids, and wanted to leverage off of Tux Paint's capabilities (and notariety), but didn't really want to shove that feature _into_ Tux Paint. I can definitely see the next/want to allow a slideshow to be saved, so it can be easily loaded back up. But I think I'll hold off on adding that level of complexity until this new feature has had a chance to 'cool on the windowsill,' as it were. No reason to paint myself into a corner (ooh, bad pun), when it may turn out that I've gone about the Slideshow functionality the wrong way. Or, on the other hand, perhaps selecting 5-10 slides from the interface is easy enough, and noone will be screaming at me to add a "Save Slideshow" feature. :^) (Though admittedly, having one would probably make it a bit easier to let people 'publish' slides to the web, say as an animated GIF.) -bill! |
