One thing that the current slideshow feature doesn't do (since I whipped it together in two afternoons :^) ) is allow you to _save_ the slide show. That is, once you exit out of the "Slides" screen and back into the "Open" dialog, it forgets what slides you had picked, and in what order. However, if you don't pick ANY images in the "Slides" screen and hit "Play", it will display all of your pictures, in the order they appear in the "Open" and "Slides" dialogs. So if the only images you have in your Tux Paint folder are the ones you want in your slideshow, and they were drawn/saved in the order you want them to show up, it's a cinche. Just go Open->Slides->Play. You can combine this with Tux Paint's "Save Directory" option (which you can fiddle with in Tux Paint Config.) to create a folder just for your slideshow. (So that none of your non-presentation drawings are mixed in.) If you had already drawn the slides in Tux Paint, you can copy or move them to the new folder using your operating system (e.g., file Explorer in Windows or Finder in Mac OS X). > You would be a lifesaver if they could do it themselves! Sue - what platform are you using Tux Paint on? It may be possible to get a sneak-preview release of Tux Paint 0.9.16 out in the next week or so, depending on the availability of the other volunteers. (Esp. if you're on Windows!) In the meantime, what tools are people using to do slides with Tux Paint right now? I can imagine simply using Windows' file Explorer and it's "Photo Album" view mode, for example. It's pretty low-tech, but should do the trick. Obviously, loading the images into presentation software like PowerPoint or OpenOffice.org Impress would work even better. Thanks, -bill! |
