Additionally, it occurs to me that we'd probably want a big "Plus" and
"Minus" button, for adding-to and removing-from the current selection.

So in the end, we'd have buttons like this on the right
(when the 'scissors' icon on the left was clicked):


  Rectangle            Dashed

  Lasso                Fuzzy (magic wand)

  Stamp

  Plus                 Minus      <-- these toggle
                                      (both off, plus on or minus on)

  Cut                  Copy       <-- these do the action immediately,
                                      then go back to the previous mode

  Paste                           <-- switches to pasting mode, similar to
                                      Stamps tool

and at the bottom, these become active when in pasting mode:

  Scale slider .................
  Mirror               Flip
