I updated all my lab computers (winXP) with 0.9.15 today and really enjoyed it. I teach computers to about 430 students, ages Pre-Kindergarten up to Second Grade. I use TuxPaint extensively for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten. First and Second grade use other programs, but TuxPaint is usually a choice after they complete their work and it remains a favorite. Today, I allowed all grades time for them just to 'play' with the new version of TuxPaint. Below are some of my observations from one day of 0.9.15. I really liked the new 'sizer' for stampers. (I think it would be great for the fonts, too) Something my students really liked was the expanded palette. As for the new stamps, my students think that any new stamp is a treat, so they were in heaven. One thing that caused some of my students problems was the middle and right mouse buttons doing nothing, expect causing a pop-up. I love it! I struggle with get my younger students to use just their 'pointer' finger and the left mouse button. Thank you! Cal Hardage cha...@gb... |
