Kid Pix used to have a teacher selected mode where certain commands were hidden from the user. Just to throw something out. What about a way to select "safe" mode, where certain commands require a control click to work. The chance of a novice accidentally executing such a command would be remote. However, it would be easy for a supervisor (teacher or parent) to help them do it.
