I'd definitely like to provide a way to offer different UI themes to
Tux Paint [1], including offering a high-contrast theme [2] and
a "dark mode" [3].

And yes, the original UI would be available, and almost certainly
be set as the default.  Whenever I see someone on social media
complain about how Tux Paint "looks like it's from 2002" (it is :-D),
lots of other people come to its defense. ;-)
