Happy new year everyone; I hope you're staying safe out there. This is just a brief note to let you all know that a new version of Tux Paint has been released! So far, it's been made available for: * Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10; both 64-bit and 32-bit (installer EXE only, so far) * Windows XP and 2000 (installer EXE only, so far) * Apple Macintosh; OS X Yosemite (10.10) through macOS Big Sur (11) * Android (version 5 Lollipop & later) * Haiku; both 64-bit and 32-bit * and of course as source-code (.tar.gz) Many thanks to Mark K. Kim, Pere Pujal i Carabantes, Shin-ichi TOYAMA, and Luc 'Begasus' Schrijvers for these ports. Shin-ichi says he'll produce some RHEL Linux packages soon, as well. Visit the download page of the Tux Paint website to find what you need: http://www.tuxpaint.org/download/ This new version includes many minor changes, as well as these noteworthy ones: * export drawings "out of Tux Paint" (from the Open dialog; e.g. on a desktop/laptop OS, they'll be copied into your personal "Pictures" folder) * export animated GIFs (from the Open->Slideshow dialog), great for sharing silly animations on social media * Shapes tool offers the ability to expand shapes from the corner, rather than the center * improved Eraser tool (including finer eraser sizes) * larger on-screen keyboard (accessibility feature of the Text and Label tools) on high-resolution screens You can read my press release about it here: http://www.tuxpaint.org/latest/tuxpaint-0.9.25-press-release-en.php PS - I've also come up with a "Privacy Policy" regarding the Tux Paint website (www.tuxpaint.org) and the application itself, and have posted it here: http://www.tuxpaint.org/privacy/ Feedback is welcome! -- -bill!
