A new build of Tux Paint 0.9.24, originally released back in May, is now available for macOS. The previous version worked on macOS 10.12 Sierra, 10.13 High Sierra, 10.14 Mojave, and 10.15 Catalina. Now that macOS 11 Big Sur is out, we've received a handful of reports of Tux Paint 0.9.24 not working properly (it runs, but no image is displayed). Mark Kim of the Tux Paint project spent some time digging into this and has produced new builds of Tux Paint and Tux Paint Config. which not only work on Big Sur, but also on a few earlier versions: OS X 10.10 Yosemite, and 10.11 El Capitan. If you're running Big Sur and had problems -- or if you're still running Yosemite or El Capitan and want to try out the new Tux Paint -- you may download them here: http://www.tuxpaint.org/download/macosx/ In case you missed it, we also have a page that lists all of the previous major releases of Tux Paint, and the various versions of Mac OS X / OS X / macOS that they run on, along with download links, too! (http://www.tuxpaint.org/download/macosx/older/) If you come across any problems, let us know ASAP! Many thanks to the folks who reported the issues, and to Mark for all he had to endure to get Big Sur installed and Tux Paint up and running on it! -- -bill! Sent from my computer |
