Hello, We use Tuxpaint a lot with 5 years old children coming with their class, and with 9 years old coming to learn programmation, using Scratch online ( https://scratch.mit.edu/). For the Shape tool, the problem is that when you draw a shape, you can resize or rotate it while you are creating it, but you cannot translate it. It's very difficult for small children to drawt the shape at the right place, even with many trials. It would be even better to be able to move the shape (or any part of a drawing) after it has been drawn. For older children, we use Tuxpaint to create drawings to be inserted as scene or sprites in Scratch after. We thought they would draw with brush tool but many used stamps instead, some adding many stamps to create an original drawing, some using them as they are. When willing to create a new pose for animations, we couldn't do it easily wiht Tuxpaint, we had to use Gimp, which is more difficult for this age. Two ways would be nice : - having 2 poses for some stamps (rest pose and walking pose, for example), but the stamps have to be exactly the same place on 2 different sheets, I don't know how it could be done. - be able to select, cut, paste and move parts of the stamp, or at least be able to rotate the stamps as desired. I suppose adding too many tools could complicate a lot the software, but may be some complicated options could be placed in a special tool (as made with the m |
