Are you loading these pictures as Starters (i.e., via the 'New' dialog?) It could be a bug related to 0.9.21's support for loading black-and-white (non-transparent) Starter images. However, I just tried starting a new picture with a solid red background, and then immediately starting another new picture with a Starter; first one that has no transparency (newly supported by 0.9.21), the other a PNG with transparency (one of Tux Paint's original Starters from a long time ago). In both cases, the new picture came up on a white background. So I can't replicate the bug using what I have here. Or, are you not using the images as Starters, and simply placing them in Tux Paint's "saved" folder, and then access them via the 'Open' dialog? In either case, if you'd be willing to email me (privately, off-list) a copy of the image(s) you're trying to use, I can take a look and investigate. Thanks & happy new year! -bill! |
