I'm also not a Windows user or a Russian user. Therefore, I'm not really suitable as a tester. However, I would still like to get this bug off the books and see the user's problem resolved. I'm kind of in a bind, though, as to how to proceed. Do I try to get the user involved in hand-rolling their own package with a hacked SDL? That's a little unfriendly. Or do I join the SDL development effort? (I am pretty sure I don't have the time or expertise for that.) Or is my only option to just tell the user "well, wait and see -- there's an SDL patch pending for this, but until it is accepted and enters Debian, all we can do is wait." That doesn't feel right either. Ben |
