So the current datestamp in 'tuxpaint.c', the main source-code file for
Tux Paint looks like this:
June 14, 2002 - June 13, 2009
And the very first entry in the CHANGES.txt changelog looks like this:
2002.June.16
* Initial release.
Supports brushes, stamps, lines, eraser, sound effects.
What does that mean? Well, (1) I released the first Tux Paint after only
one weekend's worth of work :), and (2) Tux Paint's 7th birthday is TOMORROW,
June 16th!
I decided to create an advertise an event on Facebook about it, and
then went ahead and made a press release which you can see on the website:
http://tuxpaint.org/latest/tpday-200906.php3
I'm calling it "Tux Paint Day," and I've suggested that folks can celebrate
by telling their friends about Tux Paint. (Even a close friend of
mine, who's been part of my Linux User Group since before Tux Paint existed,
has said: "oh, uh, err.. I dunno!" when I wasat their 7 year old's birthday
party and ask them: "so, do all these kids use Tux Paint?" :^) )
So spread the word! Since it's free, there's no harm in trying it out! :)
