[Tuxpaint-users] "Tux Paint Plus"

I discovered something called "Tux Paint Plus" today.  I ran anti-virus
scanning software (clamav's "clamscan" tool) against it, and it didn't
find anything, so I launched the program.  (I used "Wine" under Linux.)

It appears that this software installs not just Tux Paint (it's very likely
that it's just regular Tux Paint, and nothing special -- I haven't tried
yet, though), but also some kind of 'search toolbar' in ones web browser.

Doing a quick search on Google for "open source plus toolbar," I came across
an EULA (end user license agreement) for something called "InfraRecorder Plus"
that has the same wording as the one I saw in "Tux Paint Plus."

InfraRecorder is a CD/DVD writing tool for Windows that, like Tux Paint,
is released under the GNU GPL.

So it looks like someone (whomever is responsible for this toolbar) is
grabbing open source software, wrapping this 'toolbar' software around it,
and re-releasing it.


Does anyone out here have any additional comments or info about this?
It's not clear whether they are breaking the rules of the GPL (it
seems unlikely, as the EULA I read states: "These TOOLBAR TERMS OF USE
govern your use of the Toolbar only. Other terms of use govern any
other software that you may choose to install on your computer.")

However, I'm worried about people becoming confused about "Tux Paint"
versus "Tux Paint Plus."  It want it to be clear that the 'official'
versions of Tux Paint are the ones released by us, the current set of
developer volunteers, and that we cannot be held responsible for any
problems that come up by using this "plus" version.

(During the Google Summer of Code mentor summit in October, it was
recommended that we trademark the name "Tux Paint" to help avoid these kinds
of issues.  How do people feel about that?)
