Hardware problems are always a possibility - over-heating in hot weather with clogged cooling vents and a tired fan, but difficult to say without inspecting the hardware. I had a laptop (not mine) where the hard-drive was slowly failing. The machine started taking longer and longer to boot, a couple of blue-screens of death (page-faults) and finally it wouldn't boot at all. Until it failed to boot, I looked in all the wrong places for problems. cheers, John. |
