Thanks greatly to Per Thomas Jahr for posting that the pl2303 driver 
works with the DCU-10 cable -- I was able to make it work with my DCU-11 
cable which I'm using to sync my T637.

Unfortunately I'm getting a very bad connection that drops out anytime I 
start to do a sync:

And then I have no backup data saved (and that's doing a backup of my 
phonebook)...
