Using >the arrow keys brings me to the next message. SP will take you to the next page. Now, once you've reached the end of the article, it's marked "read" in your .newsrc. If you wish to review it later, then use m to mark it as unread (but it's marked as "read" upon reaching the end once again) or M, which marks it unread and hides it temporarily, to be retrieved with Y or by re-entering the newsgroup. ^E takes you to the end (which also marks it "read"). ^R to the beginning; v to the beginning and shows all headers verbosely. g[text] allows you to search; g repeats search. When using g, you must start from the beginning of the article to avoid having it marked "read" upon reaching the end. Hint: Use v before searching as it gives you more "real estate" after exposing all the headers. If you unintentionally go to the next article after reaching the end, which is easy to do, use m or M to return to it (or ^E to leave it marked as read if you're not going to return to it), then "-" to return to the previous article you were reading. I can't recall the last time we had an on-topic article in this mailing list! Thanks for posting. |
