I agree, but am further in that direction from you! With unthreaded rn, I can scan through the new postings in a group, just noting the ones of interest to me. What with thread drift, doing that by thread doesn't work. And 'new postings/unread postings' don't help, because I oten scan once, and then go back and look properly when I have time. Pnews is not posting in follow-up mode for trn 4, but returning code 42 and trn does it. Unfortunately, there are some NNTPish incantantions between the call to Pnews and that to inews, it is clearly one of them that is going wrong, and I would have to spend some time to locate why. So I just hacked Pnews to deny that it is trn 4, and it calls inews itself. Regards, Nick Maclaren. |
