#15 crash while getting overview files

Trn-4.0-test76 hogs all memory and swap on Tru64 UNIX
4.0G
when it connects to an external news server and tries
to fetch
the overview files. You can test this by using
news.utu.fi as
news server and trying to get some newsgroup into
thread selector.
