You mean I can do ftp from local to Trinux server using OpenSSH ? I could telnet but I don't know how to ftp it to Trinux. That's why I do reverse ftp from Trinux to local... Oh, I assumed you meant the telnet/ftp server. The clients are trivial. There should be telnet client built into busybox. A while back I was trying to find an ftp client that *doesn't* rely on libreadline. -mdf > Thank you > I instaled opensshd and made it run. > But for the ftp I just installed ftp client > and telnet to Trinux and ftp from it... > For ftp client, I had to copy libreadline.so.3 and > libncurses.so.4 in /lib dir. > > Thank you again. > > > >From: Matthew Franz <mf...@ci...> > >To: Byunghwan Lim <bh...@ho...> > >CC: tri...@li... > >Subject: Re: [Trinux-talk] telnetd and ftpd in Trinux ? > >Date: Sun, 22 Oct 2000 03:08:17 +0000 (/etc/localtime) > > > >See http://trinux.sourceforge.net/remote-admin.html for the > >solution. Thank you I instaled opensshd and made it run. But for the ftp I just installed ftp client and telnet to Trinux and ftp from it... For ftp client, I had to copy libreadline.so.3 and libncurses.so.4 in /lib dir. I realize the basics of Trinux say "for now it is Trinux can not easily be installed on the HD like other Linux distrubtions" but I noticed the word "easily". Now, I can deal with hard. I have an old, POS ThinkPad that I'd really like to turn into a coding machine. Any ideas? |

I'm not familiar with the Tux web server. Is it the kernel web server in 2.4? I didn't know Red Hat wrote it?! Really, the only thing taken from Slackware is the libraries and the fact that new libraries and binaries are compiled on Slackware. I chose Slackware because RedHat's libc and friends are way too bloated. Most of the standard utils are courtesy of busybox and the rest are pretty much compiled from scratch. -mdf > I know it's SlackWare 7.1 based kernel but can it be done? > > --- Matthew Franz <mf...@ci...> wrote: > > 1) Httpdtype is a program to capture the HTTP header and determine what > > type of web server is running > > > > 2) What are your specific needs for a web server? See http://busybox.lineo.com, but basically it involves (un)commenting #defines for specific busybox then recompiling the busybox binary. The linuxrc is the best place to start to understand how Trinux works. There are a fair amount of comments and the shell scripts are one a 3rd grade reading level :) -mdf |
