Install and configure Torrtux

Installation

Check the dependencies (note that all of them but perl and xclip are perl modules, thus you can install them with cpan):

• perl >= 5.10 (for given/when statements)
• xclip

The following perl modules (all available on CPAN)

• LWP
• HTML::TreeBuilder
• AppConfig
• Term::ANSIColor
• XML::RPC (optional, for the subs)
• IO::Uncompress::Gunzip (optional, for the subs)

Then, run the install script (with root privileges):

$ perl install.pl

You have different options for the installation (see perl install.pl --help) :

Options:

  --quiet           turn off progress messages  
  --verbose         turn on extra progress information, overrides -q
  --sharedir=DIR    install shared files to DIR instead of
                    /usr/share/torrtux/
  --scriptdir=DIR   install scripts to DIR instead of /usr/bin/
  --docdir=DIR      install documentation to DIR/torrtux-0.0.3
                    instead of /usr/share/doc/torrtux-0.0.3

Configuration

Move /usr/share/doc/torrtux/torrtuxrc to ~/.torrtuxrc
Chose your favourite torrent-manager in ~/.torrtuxrc. Some have already been written for you, then uncomment the corresponding line.
