[Torcs-users] (no subject)

Ok, I am puzzled why I cannot get torcs to function
properly.  When I originally installed suse 9.2, I was
able to play race, and found the game enjoyable.  I
don't recall exactly when I lost that joy, if it was
after a new software config, or after installing a
different motherboard, but I would like to get this
working.  The current problem is when I start to race,
the car I am trying to control keeps disappearing from
my view.  Also trees, etc, prevent my from seeing
where I am trying to go.  Also, the view keeps
changing from forward to rearward, so right becomes
left and vice versa.  I am sure my first experiences
with the game didn't include these frustrations, or I
would have uninstalled or ignored and forgot about it.
 If starting torcs from term, I get errors:WARNING:
grscene:initBackground Failed to open shadow2.rgb for
reading
WARNING:         no shadow mapping on cars for this
track
No clue what all that means or if it is the cause of
my problems.  Any suggestions?
