#1 Put tkgames under CVS control?

No

I notice that tkgames is just a "placeholder" project -
there are release files but the source code isn't under
CVS control.

Putting the source under CVS would allow multiple
developers to collaborate - and that would be necessary
for things like tkgamepack.kit (http://wiki.tcl.tk/13404)
to turn into a proper SF project. Have you been
in touch with Brian Theado (http://tkoutline.sf.net/)?
There seems to be some duplication of effort here.

CVS is a little hard for me as I don't usually have access
to the web with a linux machine
(and I don't know CVS!) But will look at this.

    Re: http://tkoutline.sf.net/
This project appears to be an fancy editor -
My page lists games. Am I missing something?
I dare say there are other tk games projects on the web..
    but I haven't seen them.
This page primarily got written because the tcl.tk software
archive was down for so long, I didn't know if it was coming
    back. (It now has).

Sorry, at the time I posted this query, Brian had his
contact information posted on the front page of the
tkoutline project. It's now over at
    http://tkoutline.sourceforge.net/wiki/46 .

Anyway, tkgames and tkgamepack.kit seem to be a duplication
of effort - and I'm sure that if Brian is willing, we can
sort things out so that the projects get merged, with more
    than one committer.

By the way, CVS runs fine on Windows and Mac, also.

Sorry for the delay in posts.

I had a look at the tkgamepack.kit page, but I'm not too
    keen on merging.

I had a chance to browse the tcl game wiki last month and
picked up on a few interesting games which I've linked
too, (and yahtzee which I hacked a little)
but more projects just haven't got the quality. I haven't
had the chance to go thoroughly through the "Tk Game Pack"
game page though, and if there's some
quality title's I've missed, please let me know.

As I see it, it's even a good thing to have one site with
a comprehensive list of widgets, while another has fewer
    but perhaps of better quality.

Tkmines is a case in point. It's just got ugly fonts, non-
standard behaviour for a mines game .. just too many rough
edges. If some-one gave it some TLC it would be a nice
    game.

Re CVS: I'm probably not ready to let strangers have
accounts in this page yet. If this is the only reason to
start using CVS , then I'm not going to worry.
    Is there another reason ?

Priority for me is getting some of these games going a bit
    better.

No. I still have to check the link you gave me
    (http://tkoutline.sourceforge.net/wiki/46).

Do you know who is the author of the yahtzee
    (http://wiki.tcl.tck/957) widget ?
    I've just updated my webpage (http://tkgames.sf.net) ...
    feedback is welcome.
