Hi! Here is the untested de.po file (since I didn't have time to download & compile the lastest ti*lib stuff). I guess the UTF-8 Charset that kbabel defaults to is ok. And ya potfile error found ;-): #: src/tilp_main.c:111 msgid "FreeBSDP port, (c) 2003 Tijl Coosemans\n" I guess FreeBSD port was meant, so I put this in my translation. -Thomas |

Well, how do you write your file in UTF-8 ? Which editor ? The French translation has been written into another charset. Then, TiLP is running into troubles. I may have to convert it into UTF-8. > And ya potfile error found ;-): > > #: src/tilp_main.c:111 > msgid "FreeBSDP port, (c) 2003 Tijl Coosemans\n" > > I guess FreeBSD port was meant, so I put this in my translation. > I will take a look at... > -Thomas thx, roms. -- Romain Lievin, aka 'roms' <ro...@ti...> The TiLP project is on <http://www.ti-lpg.org> "Linux, y'a moins bien mais c'est plus cher !" |

> [ UTF-8 ] Well, as Julien already pointed out, recode or iconv will do, though opening and saving the po file in kbabel will do the same. I would also recommend to the other translators to use kbabel rather than plaintext editors (though i bet there is a pofile script for emacs by now) since it is a quite advanced pofile generator. There was an older translation by Michael Piefel with many useful phrases which I could load as a helpfile and then copy the matching phrase with only a keystroke. It also prevents you from messing up with \n and %i/%u etc stuff. -Thomas P.S.: No, I'm not that much a KDE fan - Window Maker is running here and no KDE Apps at the moment ;-). -- |

There is also GTranslator for Gnome people which seems to be quite interesting. It manages locale to UTF8 charset conversions, too. But, I will try and test Kbabel... > > -Thomas > > P.S.: No, I'm not that much a KDE fan - Window Maker is running here and > no KDE Apps at the moment ;-). > LOL !
