[TiLP-devel] Possible reason for DirectLink USB failure

I can run tilp-2 like this:

tilp-2 --calc=ti89t --cable=DirectLink --port=1

but I get some errors:

I just located something mroe useful in dmesg:

usb 1-3.3: usbfs: interface 0 claimed by usbfs while 'tilp-2' sets config #1

This appears to be a conflict with other USB devices on my system:

http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Scanner_Setup_from_SUSE_Linux_10.0#USB_access_conflicts_for_Epson_all-in-one_devices

Of course it isn't a scanner, but the error message is identical.

I'm in the exact same situation as you - new ti89t, direct cable, same
errors.  I would be happy to provide any more verbose feedback if that
would be helpful to someone.

Unrelated: is this a case of user stupidity or are the files on the
tilp sourceforge page not the same as those on ticalc.org?  The tilp2
package on sourceforge is corrupt, the tar archive is truncated and
missing many files.  And the tilp2-libs are different versions than
those on ticalc.org

Although DirectLink USB does work now it still needs much work all
information given (including verbose is very helpful). Also OS versions,
TiLP Version, tilibs2 versions (Get from About Dialog in TiLP) is very
helpful.

The TiCalc.org releases are the latest and most dependable.

I upload on ticalc.org stable archives.
I upload on SF devel/testing archives.

Attached is the tilp-2 console output.  The settings are already
configured for a direct usb ti89t, so this is the output when I start
the program, and then press the "Ready?" button.

This is tilp-2 version 0.13, and: "cables=0.0.9, files=0.1.4,
calcs=0.1.3, ticonv=0.0.3" (all from source) on Debian sid with kernel
2.6.16-2-686 (Debian binary package).

Known bug fixed in ticables2 v0.1.0 (not released yet). Due to API change=
s
in the kernel and/or the libusb.
