Hi, I have just released a beta version of TiLP (v6.58). The main interest of this release is the migration from GTK+ 1.2 to GTK+ 2.0. But, it includes some enhancements and bug fixes. You fill find the RELEASE file attached to get more informations. Testers are welcome ! Please send bug reports to the 'tilp-devel' mailing list. About my planning: - step1: GTK+ migration (done) - step2: Windows port (there will be a native Windows port no longer) - step3: move the Group File Manager as a plugin and stabilize plugin mechanism - step4: add support for the TI's USB native driver (Talk-TI SDK) Note: TiLP v6.0 can upgrade the basic libraries to get advantage of bug fixes. I taken a lot of care to make libticalcs still backward compatible. Hi, Win32 port with GTK+ 2.0 has been finished ! It has been quite easy. A beta of TiLP/Win32 should be released soon... Tijl: the registry file has been moved to $(prefix)/share/tilp according to our previous discussion. This should make you happy ! There is currently no deadline about an official release. roms. Filesystem "standards" are a mess to deal with and seem very different
on each unix flavor. To give you yet another directory, /var/lib seems
to be /var/db on BSDs.
However, it seems to me that tilp.reg shouldn't go there anyway. That
directory is used for state keeping data. "tilp.reg" is an ordinary
config file linking file types to programs. On BSDs it should be put in
${prefix}/etc. I've no idea where Linux should put though.

That would be better suited, depending on how the file is
managed. ${prefix}/etc is OK for me. (moreover it was initially
installed there, a couple of months ago)

It seems to be the best solution. gtk+ uses it for storing a kind of registry:
'# GTK+ Input Method Modules file' and mplayer uses it for storing codec
informations.
If this is OK for you, I will use ${prefix}/etc then.
