Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Invalid Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Patrick Fehr (fehrp) >Assigned to: Romain Liévin (roms) Summary: Tilp permission problem and strange variables displayed Initial Comment: Dear tilp Maintainers I did the following under ubuntu edgy / TiLP - Version 6.80: sudo mknod /dev/tiusb0 c 115 16 sudo chmod 666 /dev/tiusb0 of course it's root:root chowned as every other /dev apt-get install tilp Now first of all, everytime I want to change a setting in Setup/Communication(my setup would be a Silver cable, Port 1 and a TI voyage 200), I get Msg: you don't have permissions for reading/writing the node. Cause: others does not have r/w access or you are not in the group. So I checked /etc/group and added my username to the line "users:100:" but that didn't change it. And I can check the "ready" button(when I chose TI92+ only, but NOT when I chose my REAL model(TI 89 Titanium: voyage 200), because then I get: Msg: Invalid host ID. Cause: TiLP received an unexpected Machine ID, probably due to a transmission error.) and get a connection, but when I then try a dirlist, I get the same error. Now I tried the forbidden start as root: I also get many many errors, the first when trying to set Communication settings: Msg: Error occurred while initializing the libusb. Cause: Check that your cable is connected or not stalled. Check your libusb and usbfs, too. System: Device or resource busy (errno = 16) Okay, I get a dirlist, when I chose the wrong model (TI 92+) but the dirlist is rubbish, the only thing, that is correct is ONE folder and it's name, all the other folders in Variables are not displayed and the content in the correct one is rubbish too: some expr have no name at all, some have a filesize of over 11MB, etc. I would like to help debug, please feel free to contact me, if you could need further logs, etc. Thanks for your appreciation best regards Patrick ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Romain Liévin (roms) Date: 2007-07-22 00:09 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=136160 Originator: NO TILP-1 is no longer supported.
