It seems there is a kernel issue aka Titanium is:
- working fine with a 2.4.32 kernel and any libusb version (0.1.9 & 0.1.1=
2),
- is not working with 2.6.7, 2.6.15, 2.6.17 kernels and any libusb versio=
n.

We have a _real_ problem!
