Hi.
You probably get alot of messages asking for help, and most of them probably are from people who haven't even bothered trying first.
But I have googled, surfed on tieducation, searched on other relevant websites,...this evening (and night) probably for over 10 houres.
Whatever I do I can't get my ti-84 plus connected to my windows vista 32-bit.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled ticonnect, done a system restore and reinstalled it.
I've tried on another pc, my laptop, my dad's laptop. (all of these are on vista) I've tried updating it by dropping the update .8Xu above the ticonnect icon and hoping it'd then find my device.
I have unistalled the driver in device manager, tried searching online for the driver, tried accessing the driver in the ticonnect folder.
I've followed tutorials (there's ALOT of people not able to connect their ti84plus)
And I just can't get that freakin' calculator connected to my pc.
It worked before, I was able to connect once, but that was about a week or 3 ago.
And I seriously wouldn't know what I've done to mess it up since then.
I also can't do a system restore that far.
Then I tried to install TiLP, I've installed GFM.
WIndows said the driver isn't recognized by them for every driver tilp wanted to install at the end of the setup but I've allways chosen to do it anyway.
I can open tilp... but I can't connect my ti-84 plus...
I still can't find a driver.
Sorry to bother you through a contact form thats probably not even meanth for questions like this, but it's the only way I could find to contact you.
And I'm sick of enless surfing to find the same answer again and again while it doesn't work.
I don't know alot of computers, but I am able to follow a clear tutorial and do exactly as it sais and that's what I've done all the time.
What can I do????
grtz,
Brecht
Hello,
Windows hates having multiple drivers for the same piece of hardware, and TILP and TI-Connect cannot use each other's drivers for multiple reasons... so, in the current state of things, they interfere with each other.
I suggest doing the following actions:
1) unplug your 84+ from the computer;
2) uninstall both TILP and TI-Connect;
3) plug your 84+ to the computer;
4) open the peripherals manager (whatever its name in your locale). The 84+ _should_ be seen as a USB device with a problem, with a black-on-yellow question mark;
5) if there is a driver for the 84+, whether libusb-based (TILP) or not (TI-Connect), click right on its entry and uninstall it;
6) unplug the 84+;
7) reboot the computer;
8) install either TI-Connect or TILP;
9) reboot the computer again;
10) plug the 84+, and proceed with either TI-Connect or TILP.
Be sure to report back, whether this worked or not :)
Lionel.
