I have a Voyage 200 connected via the "silver" usb cable. I am running TILP2 V1.07 under Linux (Fedora Core 7). From info screen:

Framework version (cables=1.0.9, files=1.0.7, calcs=1.0.7, conv=1.0.4)

When using the backup function it gets to a large flash application, and when the transfer of this file appears to be complete, sometimes I get a popup window saying the connection is being reset, then (regardless of whether I get the "reset" message) I get a popup window with the following message:

Msg: timeout occured while reading to the device.
Cause: check that link cable is plugged and/or the calculator is ready.
System: Resource temporarily unavailable (errno = 11)

At that point, the backup is failed. Where this problem occurs does not appear to have any consistency. It *usually* occurs on the first larger file transfer, but sometimes I actually get to the second larger flash app before getting these results. I have also had it occur on a rom dump. I have checked the log messages and don't find anything unusual there when this occurs.

I have attached a gzipped file with the tilp output in it. If I can provide anything else, let me know. I really like this program and would like to get it working reliably for my setup.

Thanks.

Did you install TiLP from source or package? Would you be able to run a test for me?

If yes, open ticalcs2/src/backup.c, look for ticalcs_calc_recv_tigroup and next, look for TRYF(handle->calc->is_ready(handle)).

Simply add 'PAUSE(250);' just before and just after this line.

Install the library again, re-run TiLP and take me up to date...

    Thanks, Romain.

Another way to help me: backup your hand-held with Ti-Connect and send the TiGroup file backup to <roms AT tilp DOT info>.

An updated RPM which should fix this (libticalcs2-1.0.8-2, which has Romain's fix backported) is going to hit the CalcForge RPM repository in a few hours. I'll tell you when it's up.

Oh, and it's called Fedora 7, not Fedora Core 7. ;-) The last "Core" was FC6.

libticalcs2-1.0.8-2 is now up at http://repo.calcforge.org/fedora/ . Please try the update and report whether it fixes your issue.

I am using the calcforge repos. and got the new updates installed.

Tried to backup, sorry, I still get the timeout on backup:(

Would sending a copy of the ti group backup using ti-connect help?

Yep, a lot! Please send it directly to <roms AT tilp DOT info>.

I transmitted your file to my hand-held without any error. The 'restore' function works fine. The same apply with the 'backup' function. I didn't encounter any transmission error with my V200 thru a SilverLink cable on both Windows XP 32-bits Home and Linux Debian 64-bits.

I'm afraid the bug will be difficult to fix...

Hmmmm... Not sure what the problem is then. I've had the problem on 2 different machines (same version of programs, same OS, same link cable, same calculator, different machine hardware).

Funny thing is, when I ran TI-Connect to download you the group file (which is always successful, it was using an emulator (VMWare) on the same physical machine that doesn't work with tilp (so same actual hardware, cables, etc.).

Oh well. If there is anything else I can provide or test, let me know. For now I guess I just use my emulator running Windows XP. I'm not a huge fan, but it'll do in a pinch.

Thanks again for your attention on this.

What OS (Advanced Mathematics Software) version are you running on the V200?

I have a v200. When I try to make a backup it freezes after about 90 to 100 seconds.
    The following message apears:

Msg: timeout occured while reading to the device.
Cause: check that link cable is plugged and/or the calculator is ready.
System: Resource temporarily unavailable (errno = 11)

The TI 84 with directlink works fine.

    I see you're using a V200, probably with a SilverLink nowadays. However:

    • which OS version is your V200 running ? In the Home screen, F1 -> A (About) to obtain this piece of information;
    • which computer OS type, architecture and version are you using ? Possibly Ubuntu, according to your handle, but maybe not ?
    • which versions of TILP and its libraries are you using ?

      Hello Lionel,

You are correct I am using a V200 with SilverLink.

The OS on the V200 is version 3.10

I am running Linux Mint 18

      Tilp2 is version 1,17-1

Thanks for looking in to this,

      Gerard Bekking
