Hi Folks! I just wanted to drop a quick line to wish everyone a happy new year! I know it's been quiet the last few weeks, especially for me, but I'm sure everyone has been up to their ears in holiday activities, family gatherings, and food... ;-) I'm no exception; in fact, I'm probably the worst offender on this subject... Any ways, I just want to make sure that you all know that this project is not dead. In many ways, it's more alive than ever, and I want to thank each and every one of you for that. 2002 was a great year for this project, and I appreciate everyone that has contributed an idea, code, or just good advice. Thank you, and I'll see you on-line soon! Happy New Year!! Raymond |

I'm glad to hear that everything is working well overall. I tried to duplicate the crash on yellowtab.com but I didn't manage to duplicate it yet. It might be one of the seemingly random crashes in the HTTP protocol that have been around since it's last major overhaul. I'll look into it soon regardless. :-) The DOM viewer does seem to have some issues of its own as well; I'll be sure to have Mark see if he can duplicate that bug as well. I tested the alpha version and I like it quite much. It seems to load and parse many documents quite good, but also noticed some crashes. e.g. when I tried to load www.yellowtab.com or when hiding/expanding parts of the tree in the "DOM Inspector". Daniel "Assimil8or" Furrer |

Apparently I made the most recent build available a little too quietly... :) It's been up and available for two full days without a single download... Shocking...! :) So, just so every one on the lists knows, check out the November 21 "Themis Alpha Release" at http://sourceforge.net/project/ showfiles.php?group_id=13124 . Feel free to spread the word to other interested parties. :-) Raymond -- Raymond "Z3R0 One" Rodgers z3r...@us... http://themis.sourceforge.net The Fifth Rule: You have taken yourself too seriously. |

Hi folks, Over the last few weeks, I've had several people ask about a PPC version of Themis and/or about problems compiling on PPC. As you may or may not know, I have a PPC machine myself that I barely use, but I haven't had BeOS running on it at all. (It's a Umax PPC machine, I believe a S900 that Be was about to throw out when I rescued it courtesy of Joe Tarsha.) Well, I successfully managed to install BeOS on the machine about a week ago, on my little Quantum 850 MB SCSI drive I had stuck in the machine when I got it. That's the good news; I now know how to get BeOS running on it and have it properly configured to run it. The bad news, as you might be guessing right about now, is that 850 MB drive which I considered as reliable as the sun or moon died right after installation. As I don't want to wipe the primary drive in my PPC to install BeOS, this has complicated things a bit. I came into a bit of money last week, and I have ordered a new SCSI drive for the machine, and I should have it sometime this week. Once I do, I'll see what I can do about getting BeOS and Themis up and running on this old bucket of parts, and let you kind folks know. Raymond |

Sorry to spam the lists, but I wanted to announce the new forum I just= created: "Future Versions" @ https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=3D2100= 65 This forum will be for discussions and thoughts about =97 as the title=20 implies =97 future versions of Themis. Discussions about just about anything= =20 related to Themis can be discussed here, but it is primarily meant for=20 generating ideas for the design of the browser. For instance, I will be posting my ideas and thoughts for the major rewrite= =20 that I want to do before Themis hits version 2.0. Yes, I know this is a bit= =20 far off, but there's nothing wrong with getting these thoughts out in the= open. I ask that if you have an interest in Themis, that you spread the word to=20 others that might also have an interest, and post your brains out in the=20 forums and/or mailing lists. :-) Thanks for your time, Raymond |
