I've downloaded the Textcite for Windows file and have been trying to install it on my laptop, which runs on Windows XP. Each time I try to open the Textcite programme, I get a message reading 'Windows is searching for javaw.exe'. I tried downloading the Non Splash file as well, but have the same problem. Any idea as to what the problem could be? Do I need to have a programme like Endnote installed as well, or is Textcite a standalone?
Regards and thanks

You have to have a Java runtime environment installed. Go to http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/?intcmp=1281 and install the "JRE" (or the Java SDK, it doesn't matter). After that you should be able to run TextCite without any problems.
Cheers,
Erik

Thanks so much Erik, I've installed the jre file and all seems to be working well. I appreciate your patience with an open source rookie!
Best wishes
